Missions include evangelism but are not limited to evangelism. Evangelism could be defined as the sharing of the good news of Christ with those who do not believe and calling them to faith and repentance. Missions (which is different from “Mission”) has been defined by George Peters as “the total biblical assignment of the church of Jesus Christ.” The final purpose of all this activity is the transformation of society so that God will be known and glorified.
But in my context mission could be defined as to evangelist someone to spread the gospel of the Lord. Moreover, Education, Sunday School, mission school etc has been playing a very important role in the field of mission. Our Mission & Evangelism board/committee main view was to partake all the opportunity in the field of Education.
Here are some of the view of the mission & evangelism committee :
- The committee has established a mission English school named as 'Presbyterian Mission School' in Tispari Mission field in the year 2017 and it's motto 'enlightenment through education'. Through education, most of the people in the surrounding could be able to get an education as well as the words of God.
- In every Sunday a Sunday school service was performed in order to extend the kingdom of God by using the prescribed subject which our pastors have done sermons using different kinds of topics. Besides, the teenage groups/department we called it 'Naupang Sunday School Union' has taken their class with their respective teacher too.
